Bio: Julie

JULIE POTTER is an improviser, stand-up comedian, and rapper. In just three years of performance Julie has already made a name for herself. She was a resident company member at Lila Theatre, where she recently performed in The Razowsky Project directed by David Razowsky, the artistic director of Second City, Los Angeles. Currently Julie is recording her debut rap/comedy album entitled EXODUS which is scheduled for release in Spring 2007. She will be going on the HOMOREVOLUTION Tour in the spring as well. This is the first tour dedicated to purely Queer Hip-Hop artists and will be the subject of a new documentary.

Bio: Sam

SAM SHAW has performed, directed, and produced improvisational theater in the Bay Area since 1998. Co-founder of the San Francisco Improv Co-operative, The Monday Night Improv Jam, and the San Francisco Improv Festival, Sam has trained at BATS Improv, and guest performed with ComedySportz San Jose. He has also worked locally in scripted productions with Impossible Productions (Twilight Zone, Creepshow Live!), Killing My Lobster (Tales of a Lonely Planet), Unidentified (The Book of Liz), Cassandra’s Call (Pharmarsupial, Get it Got it Good), and the Exit Theater (Ubu Roi). He is proud to have produced the Japanese improv quartet Yellow Man Group, “discovered” and managed The Babcocks, and toured the country with the troupe-in-a-van The Wild Rumpus. Sam is an alumnus of This is Pathetic (Emerson) and Gag Reflex (Wesleyan) and in 2007 made his network television debut on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. He first played games at Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater in Middletown, CT.

Bio: Anthony

Anthony has been freestyle rapping since college but started up a professional troupe called Freestyle Love Supreme back in 2003 in New York City.  They’ve performed all over the world: Edinburgh Fringe Fest, HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival and FLS continues to do shows in New York City at COMIX.  He started up a production company in NYC called Back House Productions and their first musical, entitled In The Heights, just won the Tony for Best New Musical.  Currently, Anthony is working with Sesame Workshop on the new version of The Electric Company which will begin airing on Jan. 23rd (as a creative producer, writer, and part of the show).  He is a founding member of Crisis Hopkins and also works with Lekker Media here in San Francisco creating online media content.

Anthony has taught improv and freestyling for over 10 years all over as well.  Some of the places he’s taught: The P.I.T. Theater (People’s Improv Theatre in NYC), Wesleyan University, Stanford University, Menlo Park High School, United Nations International School, and here in San Francisco at the Climate Theatre.  He was a member of Gag Reflex back at Wesleyan, and the Pedestrian Players in NYC.

CHRISTOPHER HAYES is a professional actor who has been improvising since the dawn of the Republican revolution. His improv training and playtime include stints with Theatersports, ComedySportz, I.O. West, The Empty Stage, and Ultimate Improv. Chris produced San Francisco’s Improv Revolution from which formed the group known as The Revolution AllStars. As a three union actor, Chris finds improv the last bastion of system-cheating performance available to him just prior to retirement. “Stick it to the Man!”
